Hiil Oy received funding from the European Union Just Transition Fund

Our company applied for funding from the European Union’s Just Transition Fund and was pleased to receive a positive decision on the grant in September 2023. Our project “Industrial use of CircuWood” aims to explore and clarify the business related to charring and manufacturing CircuWood and its scaling options.

The project will deliver a pilot production line to test the wood charring production process at a small scale. This will provide learning on how production could work at a larger factory scale. The same equipment will be used to char as many different wood species as possible and to implement different surface treatment methods. Based on these tests we can build a marketable range of charred wood products and scale up their manufacture.
